Traverse the mountain from East to North via the Chogoria and Sirimon routes, Climb Point Lenana, the highest trekking peak on Mount Kenya., Ascend via the quieter and most dramatic Chogoria route The combination of the two most scenic routes to the peak of Mount Kenya, the Sirimon and Chogoria, offers a unique experience. The trek has a great variety of scenery and becomes through this a spectacular route.
The Sirimon route comes from the west of Mount Kenya and passes through the dry side of the mountain. Giant trees and a rocky terrain awaits you here, before you descend onto the Chogoria path, where you can spot a totally different view with lush bamboo and highland forests. The final night, when it is time to climb up to the Point Lenana, can be as difficult as any ascent in East Africa, but the rest of the trek is generally considered easier than the Kilimanjaro or the Ruwenzori’s.
Depart from Nairobi at 09:00hrs and proceed towards the cool slopes of Mt. Kenya. Cross the Equator and arrive at your hotel in Nanyuki in time for Lunch. Relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery around with acclimatization in the afternoon, dinner and night in Nanyuki base hotel.
